February becomes much more eventful for beer festivals in Britain. There are about 20 festivals documented so far, some of them with some impressively large drink lists. Some of the largest include the Chelmsford City Cider Festival, which should have more than two hundred brews on it’s list, and the National Winter Ales Festival, which will have at 350 beers on it’s list as well.
If you’re looking for some mid-sized events, I’d recommend checking out the Chesterfield & District Beer festival, which should come in with around 120 ales, ciders, and perries. Other options include the Battersea Beer Festival, the 32nd Fleetwood Beer Festival (which will also have around 120 brews), and the Bradford Beer festival and the Luton Beer and Cider festival (both of which will have 100+ brews on their list).
Another great event to consider is the Craft Beer Rising, which is a newer event that is just hitting it’s second year. It will be taking place in London in late February. It promises not only to have a large drink list (of more than 200 beers), but to provide a good chance to try some more experimental brews as well.
There are some smaller, local events that are taking place this month as well. For a smaller, less- crowded scene, check out the White Cross Beer Festival or the Orpington Liberal Club Beer and Cider festival. Both of which have smaller lists (around 25 brews to be featured at each), but should be a smaller, more locally-focused scene.
