At one time, the Sahebqaranieh, which was built during the Qajar period, was used as the shah's harem. Later, it became Mohammad Reza Shah's office. It's interesting not only for the artwork on display, but also for the look it provides you into the life of the shah. You'll see photos of the Shah with Queen Elizabeth, Richard Nixon, Hitler, Mao, Dwight D Eisenhower, and Pope Paul VI. Also on display are the Shah's golden telephone, golden pistols, and other personal effects. Alo attached to the Sahebqaranieh is the Queen's Private Museum, which largely contains works of art collected by Farah Diba, including some Warhols.
