Started in 1845, the brewery was originally part of the farm estate of a nobleman. In 1882, the Girardin family purchased the brewery and farm and has operated the company since. The brewery brews lambic which is largely processed into traditional Gueuze , Kriek , framboise and faro . Besides lambic beer, Girardin brews the lager Ulricher and there are a number of soft drinks under the name Girli.
